About Us
Giving a Voice to
Michigan's Soybean Industry
Paying the checkoff does not make you a member of the Michigan Soybean Association.
The Michigan Soybean Association began in 1974. The Board is made up of 9 directors from 7 districts and 2 At-large positions.
The board meets quarterly or as deemed necessary.
We work with the lobbying group of Julian Vail to represent our interests in Lansing.
The Michigan Soybean Checkoff by-law cannot lobby for or against legislation. It is only through the Michigan Soybean Association that the policy makers can hear our voice. The more members the more influence we have.
There are many groups that are either anti-ag or uneducated about the importance of agriculture. To protect farming and our families way of life we have to be aware of what is going on in Lansing and Washington D.C. and be a player at the table as legislation is created and voted on.
Your membership is important to the political process. Click here for membership information.
