NCSRP Director
The North Central Soybean Research Program is comprised of the state soybean checkoff boards in Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. In an effort to avoid duplication, checkoff dollars and resources are pooled to solve common challenges. Michigan has been a charter member since NCSRP's started in 1993.
Ed Cagney is from Scotts in Kalamazoo County and has been a Michigan representative to the NCSRP board since 2006, currently serving as Treasurer. Ed works 1,950 acres on his fourth generation farm with part-time helpers including his brother. The farm has a crop rotation of corn, soybean, wheat, oats, seed corn, seed soybean, and snap beans.
