North Central Soybean
Research Program
Since its inception in 1992, the North Central Soybean Research Program (NCSRP) has been a model for successful multi-state cooperation on addressing agronomic research needs with common challenges. Such a collaborative effort allows for the addressing of challenges too large for any individual state by encouraging cost-sharing while avoiding costly duplicative research funding. Michigan was at the forefront of the NCSRP formation with both financial support and the providing of a grower director from Michigan. To help assure fair representation of Michigan soybean producers, Michigan State University researchers are encouraged to be active participants in funded research of the NCSRP.
